Staying in Canyons Village and want to eat lunch on Main Street? What about vice versa? Maybe you rented a place in Old Town but can’t wait to try The Farm at Canyons Village. Public transportation used to be your only option. Now with the addition of the Quicksilver Gondola, anyone can ski or snowboard from one side to the other – a truly unique experience only available at Park City Mountain Resort.
$50 million dollars in on-mountain improvements this past offseason have not only made this connection possible, but incredibly easy and enjoyable for skiers of most ability levels.
We did some research and planned out two routes going both directions. Route one, highlighted in this blog post, is the quickest. If you’re pressed for time or late for a meeting, this will be your best bet for getting from one end to the other while still enjoying some skiing and riding. From Canyons Village to the base of Town Lift you’re looking at roughly 1:15. Here is the route to take:
Starting from Canyons Village you’ll want to head past the Red Pine Gondola to the Orange Bubble Express.
Orange Bubble Express
Halfway up, there is a mid-station that you will want to bypass in order to reach the top of the lift. Get off the lift and head left onto Upper Mainline.
Upper Mainline
-Green Circle. Merges into Mainline.
Mainline
-Blue Square. Low pitch with a short section of moderate before Red Pine Lodge.
-Continue past Red Pine Lodge towards Saddleback Lift. * Keep some speed or skating/ poling will be necessary*
Chicane
Blue Square. One of my favorite runs on the Canyons side. Chicane was widened this past off-season and has a moderate pitch throughout. At the bottom of the run, ski past Tombstone Lift towards Timberline.
Timberline Lift
Hop off Timberline and stay left to board Iron Mountain Express.
Iron Mountain Express
Mercury
Blue Square. Hang a left halfway down onto Chrome Alley.
Chrome Alley
Blue Square. Exits at the base of the Quicksilver Gondola.

Enjoy the views! Our next article will detail some terrain off the mid-station of the Gondola.
Exit the Gondola, strap in, and proceed toward Silverlode Express.
Silverlode Express
-Continue straight off of the lift towards Bonanza Express and merge left onto Homerun.
Homerun
-Green Circle. Wide open for some excellent carving. Stay straight towards the Crescent Lift and look for Silver Queen.
Silver Queen
-Blue Square. One of my top 5 favorite runs at PCMR. Moderately pitched throughout. Continue straight at the bottom with some speed, stay right and catch Drift.
Drift
-Green Circle. Traverse across drift and stay right, looking for Town Lift signs and Quit ‘N Time.
Quit ‘N Time
-Blue Square. Plenty of pitch and incredible views of Old Town.
-Quit ‘N Time will bring you right to Park Avenue or to the bottom of the Town Lift.
That was easy wasn’t it? In just little over 1 hour, you have covered roughly 6 1/2 miles of distance and racked up an impressive amount of vertical feet, all with your ski's attached to your feet! Check your EpicMix app and see what other kind of pins your have earned yourself!
