Skiers and riders eagerly waited at the lift gates at Park City Mountain Resort to kick off this year’s much anticipated ski season this Saturday! Park City Mountain’s COO, Bill Rock, was there to cheer on the first chair as they left to get their first turns on the mountain this season.
Locals Wickman Taylor, Porter Fox, Garrett Christiensen, and Jaxon Gordon have been coming to Park City Mountain Resort’s opening day for three years. “We grew up in Park City. This is where we have been riding since we were little,” Gordon says, “It’s just the place to be!”
Taylor explained why Park City Mountain is the best resort in his opinion for being a “50/50” rider, “You can come down and hit the park, or if it’s a powder day, go shred it up in the mountains. It’s the best of both worlds!”
Did you miss opening day? Don't worry, opening festvities continue with the Canyons Village side of the mountain opening tomorrow, Saturday, November 27, 2016. The Red Pine Gondola will open at 9:00 am.
This is Park City Mountain’s second season as the largest resort in the United States. When the season is in full-swing, guests will be able to take advantage of more than 300 trails from 41 lifts. Park City is providing skiers and snowboarders another year of new on-mountain restaurants, chairlifts, and the Gondola that connects over 7,300 skiable terrain.
Wanting to make the most of your time on the mountain? EpicMix Time will debut later this season (likely mid-December). Free for iOS and android users, Park City Mountain Resort’s official app displays real-time lift line wait times. EpicMix Time calculates current times for all chairlifts and gondolas to help you navigate across the mountain. To activate your account, go to EpicMix.com.
The start to another great season is in the books! A big thank you to our guests, community, and mountain for making this day so epic!
