Rogue is an adorable 6-week-old Australian Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix experiencing her first steps in the snow at Park City. Ski Patrol/Handler, Connor Gardai, will work with Rogue on obedience, socialization, and introducing her to riding chairlifts and snowmobiles. Once Rogue completes this basic training, Patrol will begin introducing search exercises in hopes of strengthening her rescue skills. The goal is for Rogue to be digging dog holes by the end of the season.
Curious about how we select a dog to become a member of the Park City Ski Patrol? Our patrollers look for working dog breeds with good noses, and will often use the "Volhard" criteria to give the handlers an idea on the dogs drive, personality and trainability.
