Savor the Summit (Sat., June 17)
Park City’s iconic Main Street is lined from top to bottom with elaborately decorated tables under the summer sun. Each table belongs to a Main Street restaurant, showcasing the culinary talents within each kitchen. Known as “Park City’s biggest outdoor dinner party”, Savor the Summit is a celebration of community, cuisine, and summer. Simply make a reservation with a participating restaurant to enjoy in this event.
4th of July (Tues., July 4)
Fireworks, parades, outdoor concerts, and BBQ’s! What more could you want on America’s Independence Day? Park City celebrates with an entire day of festivities around town for the whole family. Over 70 floats take to Main Street to march in Park City’s annual 4th of July parade while City Park hosts live music, a beer garden, and children’s activities. When dusk falls, head to Park City Mountain to watch the fireworks burst.
Food and Wine Classic (Thurs., July 6 – Sun., July 9)
An event made for food and wine lovers, die-hards and newbies alike, Park City’s Food and Wine Classic features master winemakers, culinary arts, and a picturesque mountain playground. Local wineries, breweries, and gourmet restaurants showcase their finest drinks and dishes over the course of weekend seminars, cooking demonstrations, and outdoor adventures.
Kimball Arts Festival (Fri, August 4 – Sun., August 6)
Local and national artists take over Main Street in Utah’s longest-running visual arts festival. All works of art, from ceramics to photography, are on display in the heart of Park City for more than 58,000 attendees. All proceeds from the event are funneled back into the artist community through exhibitions, educational arts programs, and events at Park City’s nonprofit Kimball Art Center.
Summer Concert Series (TBA)
Summer heats up at the Park City Mountain annual Summer Concert Series where bands take to the Mountain Stage at Canyons Village for free outdoor concerts all summer long. Park City’s summer sunsets are made for picnics where kids and adults can jam to the live music. Soak in the season and stay tuned for the full lineup of performers!
Summer Film Series (TBA)
The Sundance Institute, which hosts the Sundance Film Festival in Park City every year, screens their indie favorites outside in the fresh, mountain air. Picnicking at the film screening is an art form. Guests bring everything from homemade charcuterie and wine to decadent desserts. Each film in the series has been screened at Sundance Film Festival or the Institute’s other programs for independent artists.
Adrenaline Junkies
The mountain biking and hiking trails that stretch across Park City spill out onto some of the most impressive views in the area. It’s these trails that bring trained athletes and weekend warriors out to Park City for endurance mountain bike and trail running races. Don’t let the fresh mountain air fool you. Kids Adventure Games (Fri., June 16 – Sun., June 18)
Wall climb, zip line, slip’n slide, mud pit, and mountain bike loop. Think you can conquer it all? That’s not even half of it! Kids aged 6-14 years old take to the course on mountain bike, foot, or on water through a number of different obstacles and challenges designed for children. They might be muddy, sweaty, and tired, but when kids cross the finish line, they’re smiling and filled with pride.
Jupiter Peak Steeplechase (Sat., July 29)
La Sportiva takes trail running to the highest peak at Park City Mountain. With 3,000 feet in vertical gain in a 16 mile loop, this race is not for the faint of heart. The course map resembles a V for “Vertical”, crossing Jupiter Peak at 10,000 feet in elevation. Elite and everyday athletes flock to Park City for the Jupiter Peak Steeplechase.
Mid-Mountain Marathon (Sat., August 19)
Sporting a new course for 2017, the Mid-Mountain Marathon passes through two ski resorts and finishes at the base of Utah Olympic Park. Competitors run through Park City’s aspen and evergreen forests at an average elevation of 8,200 feet. Presented by Salomon Running, the Mid-Mountain Trail is a mountain trail running paradise with few technical spots, continual climbs, and fast downhills.
Park City Point 2 Point (Sat., September 3)
The nation’s most tried and true mountain bike races come to Park City for a 75 mile course with approximately 12,000 feet of climbs. Organizers encourage racers to pre-ride the course or to bring a GPS with the course pre-loaded because of the chance of getting lost on any of the vast amount of trails. Riders pass through both of Park City’s ski resort properties, challenging them physically and mentally, for a true point to point race.
The North Face Endurance Challenge (Sat., September 23 – Sun., September 24)
When discussing premiere trail running events around the globe, The North Face Endurance Challenge is always in the conversation. A two day running event turns into a festival, featuring eight trail racing events: Gore-Tex 50 Mile, 50K, Marathon, Marathon Relay, Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, and Kid’s Run. Spanning across the Wasatch Back, athletes start at the highest elevation within the North America series at 7,000 feet and cross single track trail, ski runs, mountain bike trails, and dirt roads.
