Whether setting off for a romantic vacation in the mountains or you’ve found yourself lucky enough to find love in a ski town, Park City has all the tools to make any night on the town a romantic getaway.  I’m one of the lucky ones who found that special needle in a haystack in this town and I’m delighted to share some secrets to making your significant other the upmost priority while visiting town. On assignment for this blog, I’ve covered a few of my favorite date spots, or Go-To’s as I call them. Take these tips of advice gentlemen and women take note!

1) Après at High West Distillery:
Taking your date skiing could be a challenge, no doubt about it. I lost a girlfriend or two up at the top of the mountain…. I was young and put the pow before the gal if you know what I mean. Don’t make the same mistake my friends. Instead, get on board with something everybody gets down for. Whiskey. Park City has Utah’s first legal Whiskey distillery and only Ski-In, Ski-Out gastro-distillery in the world. High West Distillery is located right off the Town Run/Town Lift and is perfect for a romantic après ski date. With a variety of whiskey and a decorative western building right in the heart of historic old town, High West has become a staple in this community. Great whiskey lives here so be sure to sample with a Whiskey Flight. As you unbuckle your boots for the day, test out the menu! One of our favorite burgers in town is here, but the rest of the options are delicious as well. On your way out, stop by the gift shop and pick up a bottle of whiskey for the rest of your trip, you may want to bring it along for your next adventure.

2) Horse Drawn Sleigh Ride
After a few core warming cocktails, my girlfriend and I headed back to Canyons Village for our scheduled Horse Drawn Sleigh Ride. My girlfriend loves horses so this was an easy win in my book. Now that I think about it, I don’t think I ever met a girl who didn’t love horses. Underneath a starry night, my gal and I cozied up for a journey through the snow covered aspens. We were wrapped tight in the heavy wool blankets provided and had the whiskey stirring in our bellies for easy warmth. The scenery was breathtaking the entire ride. but the best moment was when we stopped short due to a moose trying to mingle with our horses.  Romance truly is everywhere folks!

3) Dinner at The Farm
After a magical ride through the forest in our horse drawn sleigh, our appetites were built up and it was time for dinner. Now, I don’t know about you, but when I take my girlfriend out, I want simply the best.  In my opinion, The Farm delivers on this request. Locally sourced ingredients allow a seamlessly fresh, Farm-to-Table quality that is missed at many other local restaurants. Pair this with a 500+ bottle wine list and you’ve set your taste buds up for the perfect dinner.  My girlfriend enjoyed the Diver Scallops dressed with Black Beluga Lentils, turnips, and celery apple emulsion and frisee. While I scarfed down the trout. For me, there is always something about fresh Utah trout that always catches my eye.
